3CX has just released Service Pack 2 for 3CX phone system version 11. Just in time after Window 8 release, the 3CX Service Pack 2 fixed several past issues and add support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
To download this new update, log in to 3CX Windows Management Console (Start-> All Programs -> 3CX Phone System -> Windows Management Console), go to 3CX Phone System Update node and then 3CX Service Packs / Updates. Or you can also download 3CX phone system version 11 with this new service pack 2 via 3CX website.
Some noteworthy additions:
Added support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012
Added support for Exchange Server 2013
All new IP Whitelist for Anti-Hacking module
Added support for Cisco SPA 514G and 525G2 phones with latest firmware.
SNOM from firmware version 126.96.36.199 is now supported and SNOM phones can now be configured using Plug and Play.

Exciting news – snom announced today that their Apollo UC edition firmware is now qualified for Microsoft Lync!
The snom UC edition firmware is an optional software module for the snom phone/devices in their Unified Communications portfolio. It combines the advantage of open standards-based IP telephony by using SIP protocal to seamlessly integrate with UC client apps such as Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Lync and as well as other SIP based IPPBX in parallel.
The first to receive “Qualified for Microsoft Lync” certification is their snom 821 desktop phone, now available to be configured with their new Apollo firmware. We’ve just been notified by Digium that beginning September 1, 2012 there will be changes made with digium Switchvox systems both in pricing and software/subscription bundles. The changes are:
Switchvox will no longer come bundled with 10 silver subscriptions and the 10 phone feature packs (this will affect all versions of Switchvox SMB/SOHO with or without appliance).
Switchvox appliance price will be increased reflecting manufacturing costs.
